Pretty Kid Update

It has been a few months since my last post.
I figured it was time for an update.
There have been things I have been mentally trying to store away to remember.
I better document these things before I forget them!

I took some new pictures of the kiddos last month, and I just love how they turned out!
I made Maebry a new outfit and naturally had to make a matching tie for Paxton.

I got lucky with a lovely day in the middle of snow storms for these pictures.
I also got lucky with amazingly beautiful children.

Taking pictures of two kids at the same time is pretty difficult.
I would finally get Maebry to smile and Paxton would look away.
He got pretty tired of me trying to get him to keep his smile.
I love this picture because that is Paxton's typical, 'I do not want to smile anymore' face.

I haven't done a Maebry post since she turned one.
Our little princess is now 15 months old.
Still not walking.
She has started pushing up to stand just recently.
I have been making her work on her standing, and she does not appreciate it.

She now says "Dada," but that is the extent of her usable language.
She has started talking a lot, but most of it is made up words.
She says "TaDa" all the time.
[[I am just a tad nervous about her lack of words considering the whole Paxton situation.
I just really can't imagine going through all this speech stuff with another kid.
BUT I am staying positive, and I am sure her speech will pick up in no time.]]

I have been known to talk about how dramatic this one is.
She definitely has strong opinions.

I have started calling Maebry my little sunshine.
There was a week where I was just so sick and miserable.
I have also been having a lot of back/neck problems.
Through all of that, there was one particularly rough day.
It was so sweet, because I could tell Maebry could just sense Mommy's struggle.
She just crawled over to me, smiled, and laid her head on my chest.
She usually has a lot of exploring to do, so to catch her in one place for that long,
usually only means she's tired.
This particular day, however, she just cuddled me and laid with me.
This sweet girl just knows when to be there for me.
Man, I love her for that.

She loves to shake her booty to music.
She loves when Mommy sings her songs.
She will just smile and laugh the whole time.
(Maybe it's my singing, haha.)
Her favorite snack right now is graham crackers.
She is only 17 pounds.
She loves apple juice, but only if it's from brother's cup.

Her favorite toys are her Jessie doll and her princess castle.
She loves pulling all the magnets off the refrigerator.
She still sleeps listening to ocean sounds with her lamby and thumb.

Beebee, Beebee Girl, and Maebsy are her nicknames.
She is definitely a Mama's girl, but she loves when Dad gets home from work.
She has been opening every cupboard in our house lately, and trying to eat everything.
She has eight teeth now.

She loves "pup pups," but only from afar.
When the dogs get too close she does not appreciate it.
She loves to watch them play outside from the window.

When she gets really excited she might slap you in the face.
Paxton and I have been on the receiving end of that quite often.

Speaking of Paxton, him and Maebry have been so cute together lately.
He used to act like she didn't exist, but now he really likes her.
I would even say that he enjoys her company.
They have been playing so well together lately.
The other day, I found him blocking the doorway so Maebry couldn't leave the room.
He wanted her to stay and play with him instead of crawling away.

He is fiercely protective of his sister.
No one can mess with her. Not even her Mom.
He never retaliates against Maebry either.
She has been known to try and claw his face off, but he never fights back.
I love that I can trust him not to ever hurt her.
He does think it's funny to drag her by the feet though.
But she thought it was funny too.

Paxton continues to go to school everyday, and he really enjoys it.
His speech has come a long way.
The other day, I told him "You're a boy."
I'm not sure he grasps that concept yet, because
he looked at me funny and said, "No, you're a boy!"
That is his new diss.
He thinks it's funny now to banter back and forth about which one of us is a boy.
I heard him tell his cousin she was a boy the other day.
I can't help but laugh.

He loves stickers, painting, and building towers.
(Building towers is hard when you have a little sister who loves to knock them down.)
His favorite snack is graham crackers too.
He asked for candy for the first time at the store the other day.
He hadn't asked before, so I bought him the bag of skittles he wanted.
After we left, I was wondering if I had just started something you can't come back from. Haha.

He still eats peach yogurt for breakfast every day.
He loves doing 'Yoga' all the time.
(That pretty much just consists of him doing headstands everywhere.)
He does the alphabet in sign language at least three times a day.
His favorite song is "Happy" from Despicable Me 2.

We got a new mini van, and Paxton new what all the buttons were before I did.
I was asking him to open doors and move things for me!
He is extremely smart when it comes to electronics.
Give him a new tablet or device, and he will have it figured out in no time.

(This picture shows how much Maebry doesn't like when she's forced to stand up.)

Well, there is an in-depth update on what's going on with these kiddos.
I just want to soak up every little thing they do and remember it.
Every time they do something new I am just blown away by how fast they are growing up.
Please slow down
