Well, our little boy is four years old.
I just can't believe it.
Four seems so old.
We had a little family party for him, and the theme was Monsters University.
This was the first year that Paxton really seemed to understand that his birthday is a special day.
I don't know that he had the speech to understand it in past years.
We had a long talk about his birthday and how he would be four years old now.
He seemed to understand the concept a little too well,
because when I would tell him to do something he didn't want to do
(like nap or clean up) he would yell BIRTHDAY!!
Bed time was a joke because he just jumped on his bed yelling "Monster Birthday!!
I just laughed and was secretly excited that he was enjoying a whole day of feeling special.
Anyways, his cake was super amazing.
I got the idea off of Pinterest, and Market Street recreated it perfectly!
(You can see the fingerprint that Paxton left after I told him it was his birthday cake.)
I really didn't do a ton of decorating, but the table always needs to look good.
I also made some monster cupcakes with the help of Paxton.
I bought a bright green shirt at Hobby Lobby and sewed felt on it to make the Mike Wazowski skirt.

The Sully masks were fun!
Of course Baby Girl was there and ready to party!
She loved the balloons.
She also had a great time with her cousins!
Cake time was fun, because Paxton sang along and smiled the whole time.
(In past years he hasn't especially loved all the attention.)
He blew his candle out like a champ.
Paxton got some great presents!
I think one of the best parts of Paxton's party was watching all the kiddos play together.
They are all so cute!
Baby Easton was in attendance too, but had to leave before the pictures.
Paxton had a great birthday with his family!
Thanks to everyone who was there and made it so fun.
I found Paxton the next morning with the leftover cake.
He was scooping all the blue frosting off of it with a fork.
He had woken up, pulled the cake out of the fridge, opened the box, and helped himself.
He said, "Paxton's Monster Cake!" when I found him....
I just let him continue to eat frosting for breakfast.
Sometimes you gotta just let them be a kid.
