Faces

Paxton Lately...

Paxton has started to enjoy his baths. When we first started giving him baths he would scream through the whole thing. Now as soon as I put him in the water he stops crying and gets calm. He kicks around and runs his hands through the water. It is so cute. We tried to get a picture of his hair floating because we couldn't believe how long it looked! What a stud!

He is definitely going through the bad skin phase. It makes me sad because he is so beautiful, and I don't like to see his face red and bumpy. Paxton has also started to smile all the time. I love his smile. Most of the time it's a little crooked smile which is so cute, but sometimes you can get a big open mouth smile. Ben is really good at getting this one.

Is it bad that sometimes when I change him I leave the shirt or onesie on his head while I change his diaper, because I think it is the funniest thing? Look at that! You would do it too. I just crack up at his turban. Also, notice the little belly and double chin he's getting. Ben and I were in his room being sad while we took all the newborn sized clothes out of his drawer. We remember when those newborn outfits were too big for him. Man, he's growing fast!

Paxton loves to sleep on his tummy. I know you aren't supposed to let them, but he always acts so uncomfortable on his back. I only let him sleep on his tummy when he takes naps and I am right there with him. I am sure most new moms are paranoid like I am about their sleeping baby. Here he is just looking so peaceful!

Paxton loves his swing! He still won't do the pacifier thing so when he gets all worked up, the swing is one of the few things that calms him. If I know he is tired and fighting sleep I will put him in his swing, and he's out like a light.

We finally took Paxton to church last Sunday! A few Sundays ago I took him for just the first hour, but this time we were there for the whole thing. He did great! I was also able to finally put him in the cute church clothes I got him because they fit now. It's nice to be in my parent's ward again so if Ben isn't there one Sunday I have help.

So that is what is going on with Paxton lately. I love seeing his personality start to come out. I will be telling my Mom about stuff he does and she always says, "That is exactly how you were." She has been telling me that a lot lately so I figure I am raising a version of myself. I feel like I deserve that. Haha. I guess he will look like Ben and act like me. This could be dangerous. :)

this 7 pounder calls all the shots

So today I woke up and got all ready for church. I also got Paxton all ready for church. This takes some time. I was once able to get ready in 30 minutes and be out the door. Not so much anymore. I was just planning on going to the final hour and a half of church. I still don't feel ready to do all three with him yet. Then, just as we are all ready to go he starts screaming that he is hungry. AND since I breast feed him I had to stop and feed him. SO I didn't get to go to church today. I guess I should just plan on going to all three hours and hopefully be able to catch one of those! I told my Mom what happened and she said "Welcome to the next 18 years of your life." 18 years? Wow. This little 7+ pounder calls all the shots around here! lol. I decided to take a picture of him afterwards because he looked so cute. I think he looks quite pleased with himself. haha.
(He weighed 7.3 lbs last time we went to his pediatrician, but that was at 2 weeks old. He must weigh more than that now. Maybe even 8 lbs? He definitely looks bigger than he did at 2 weeks.)

Pacifiers and such...

*Paxton is advanced. haha. At least that is what they told me at his developmental screen. Yah. My kid is advanced...and I am already the mom that brags about her smart baby.

*Pacifiers are not Paxton's friend. I have been trying to get him to like them because he always tries to use me as a pacifier (if ya know what I mean), and that just wont work when we are not at home. He sucks on a pacifier for about 2 seconds and then realizes nothing is coming out so he ditches it. So day 2 of "you know you love this pacifier" has begun.

*I have been trying to go to the gym and just walk on the treadmill, but even that is too much sometimes. I'm bummed because I am just ready to feel like myself again. I want to run again and be at the gym and just enjoy it. It's hard not being able to because of how much I love doing that. I feel like it has been forever since I have felt like myself.

*I got Shape-Ups, which are the Skecher shoes that are supposed to tone your lower body. I have grand ideas of going for walks with Paxton and Charlie when I get to feeling 100%. We will see how they work.

*I have some great people in my life.

*I spend a lot of time just staring at Paxton and being completely in love with him. I also love him more every day which seems impossible...but its true.

*Mother's Day is coming up and I'M A MOM NOW!

*Ben is such a huge helper when it comes to Paxton. I caught him singing to Paxton the other day. It was so cute. He's a good dad.

*My nephew Spencer called me a poopy diaper the other day. haha. When I asked him if Paxton was a poopy diaper he acted offended and said, "No! Paxton's not a poopy diaper! You're a poopy diaper!" Cracked me up. I guess its just me then. lol.

*I absolutely LOVE that song "Break Your Heart" by Taio Cruz. It is a fabulous workout song. I usually don't like songs like that, but I love this one. Play it. You will want to shake it.

*Paxton is going to have a new cousin in just a few weeks! Cosette will be arriving May 7 and no doubt she will be beautiful and wonderful! I know Ben's brother Rick and his fiance Lesla are so excited for their new addition. We are excited too. I love that Paxton has cousins so close by!

Paxton the model

Our little boy is already 1 month old!
That is crazy! He is also my little model.
Here are a few pictures I took of him recently:
This was him holding himself up! I was so proud of him being able to hold it for so long!

This one makes me laugh cause he kinda went cross eyed.

RAWR! He's gonna eat you!

Eventually he fell over. haha. But he looked happy about it!

I took this one because it showed his cute shirt.

And this last one has got to be my very favorite. It looks like I said something that really offended him and so he gave me this look:
"Why would you say that mom?!"
Oh man. What a cute kid. I might be a little biassed though :)

Baby Announcement

Here is the Baby Announcement that I made for Paxton. I took the pictures and then uploaded them to photoaffections.com and came up with this! I was so happy with the way it turned out. And seriously, I have the cutest baby ever.

Here are the pictures that I used for the announcement:

Here are more pictures that didn't make it on the announcement:

This picture just makes me laugh :)

I actually bought that hat on Etsy.com (bluebirdsboutique) when I first found out I was having a boy. I bought it for the purpose of baby pictures, and I am so glad I did because he just looks adorable in it!

my favorite muffin

studliest muffin i've ever seen.

sorry daddy...

I made this onesie when I was first pregnant, and I was excited when he could finally wear it! The flash from the camera made Ben's face hard to see, but before I could retake my picture the onesie was already peed on :) haha. Gotta love little boys!

happy easter :)

Easter this year was great. I love spending time with family and listening to General Conference. Ben had the day off as well so that was really nice spending time with him. Thanks to my charge nurse, Paxton had a stinking cute Easter outfit! It said "baby's first Easter" on it and had bunny footsies.
It even had a little bunny tail on the back.
Here he is in his outfit:
Here he is with his proud Mom :)
I had to have a picture of the bum!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and took some time to really think about the reason for it. I am so grateful for my Savior and for his sacrifice for me. Wow. I can't even put into words how grateful I am.

I'm domestic!

So my day today was spent making strawberry jam with my sister Nicole and my Mom. We used a recipe Nicole has used before, and I am so excited to use the jam! People like to give me a hard time because of my lack of motivation and experience in the kitchen. I accept their jabs because I know it is true. However, I feel like this jam making thing was a step in the right direction. I had never done anything like this before, and I think it went well. I should probably step it up in the domestic area now that I am a full time mommy :) We'll see.
Yummy strawberries :)

Here is what the boys did while we jammed it up. Cute huh?
