DaDa Time :)

Here are some pictures of Ben and Paxton just hanging out together....
It's so cute when Ben sings to Paxton. Paxton just gets so happy and even tries to sing along. I love it.
Here they are watching sports together.
We were all laughing at how seriously Paxton was sitting there so we let his belly hang out to get some pictures. haha. He looks like he just ate too much and is relaxing.
Paxton loves spending time with his Dad :)

Who needs an ottoman when you have a pug?

Holy Crap. I'm a Mom.

My sister Nicole recently helped me make a discovery about myself, and I have been thinking about it a lot lately.

I like to talk about feelings.

Haha. We were discussing about how our Dad always made us sit down and talk about how we were feeling about things. (marriage and family therapist eh?) He always wanted our feedback, and always made us talk to him even if we were beyond pissed at him. Some times it was so annoying, but I feel like it has made me a very open person. I never realized how much I like to talk it out until I married Ben. Ben does not like to talk about feelings. heh. He always lets me know he loves me and such, but if he's mad there is just no "let me know what's going on" kinda talk. (I feel like this is how most men are actually.) It can be quite frustrating, but I'm sure that's a whole other post. :) Anyways, what I mean is, I am always letting people know how things affect me. It's so hard for me to not let people know when they make me happy or hurt me.
SO, what I'm getting at is-- I am about to talk a whole lot about my feelings so get ready! If you aren't that type of person, stop reading and leave my blog forever. haha jk. But I'm about to smack you with a whole lot of mushy-ness.
--------------------------------------------------------
Holy Crap. I'm a Mom.
My Dad recently leaned over to me while I was holding Paxton, and said "Nanny, (my dorky name he's always called me) you are a Mom." We then had this mushy moment where we were both just in awe of Paxton, and the fact that he's my little boy. It made me realize again just how lucky I am.

Ben and I were BEYOND excited when we found out I was pregnant, and even more so when we found out it was a little boy. (You can go back and read my posts during that time and just tell I was busting at the seams with the news.) However, when he was born we had such a scare, we were faced with possibly loosing this wonderful baby we wanted so badly. But he's here, and he's healthy, and my life is wonderful with him in it.
..................
I will just sit and stare at him while he sleeps.
I risk loosing sleep so that I can snuggle with him a little longer.
I take a million pictures of him so I can document everything. (You know this)
I am getting all misty just thinking about him asleep in the other room.
There is nothing I look forward to more than making him giggle.
I want so much for him.
I would do anything for him.
I start to miss him when he's asleep for a while.
Every day I want to teach and show him about faith.
I feel like we have whole conversations even though he doesn't respond with real words.
I love that he needs me so much right now.
He's got me wrapped around his little finger.
I am really concerned that he enjoys quality music. haha.
I am already so proud of him.
I see his Dad in him.
I like to slick his hair and show him off.
His fabulous skin color makes me jealous.
Even when I am really upset about something, he makes a cute little noise or expression, and I melt into happiness.
I'm pretty sure we have the same sense of humor.
He makes me a way better person.
He's perfect.
...................
The list could go on and on. I just can't believe that I could be so lucky as to be his mommy.

my little fishy

I challenge you to try and find something cuter than this, because I believe it does not exist.

:) :) :)

So I took Paxton swimming for the first time! I have dying to put his swim trunks on him ever since summer started and my sister, Nicole, and brother-in-law, Jeremy, invited me to go with them. We went later on in the day so it wasn't as hot, and it was pretty cloudy so it wasn't super bright. Paxton had a freaking blast for about 10 minutes, and then he was over it. It was right around the time he usually takes a nap so he didn't last as long. He did love it for a while though! My nephew Spencer just loves swimming. He is a little fish!

Here we are before swimming.

Paxton's new thing is to chew on his bottom lip and smack his lips. Silly boy.

He was super stoked! He couldn't take the anticipation! haha.

I honestly didn't realize how chunky my little man is until I was looking at these pictures. Haha. I mean seriously, look at those rolls! He's a little Buddah!

I am definitely going to take him swimming more now that I know how much he likes it.

He was pooped out after all that fun.

Spencer, however, just kept going and going. :)

So yay for the first swim! I am however, going to have to get a new swim suit if I'm going to swim again! I didn't really factor in the whole nursing thing. haha. Luckily I had my trusty tank top. This big on top thing is so new to me :)
Anyways, I'm excited for more swim adventures to come!

This guy giggles all the time now. I love it. In fact, I can't get enough of it.

Pax and Finn

I'm not sure if they know it yet, but they are best friends.
My friend Allison brought Finnaeus over for a play date the other night. It was great to catch up with them after so long. (They live in Seattle.) Let's all cross our fingers they get to move back to Texas in a year! That would be fantastic. What would Paxton do without his best friend??

The crazy thing is that Paxton is 3 months old and Finnaeus is 6 months old. I'm pretty sure Paxton weighs more, and they are about the same length! I sure do have a little chunk :)

Aren't they both so cute??

"Here Paxton, you can have one of my shoes!" They are such good friends they even share feet!

"So what if I drooled all over??"
It was fun to have you guys over, and it was fun to have a baby be interested in all the toys Paxton is too young to care about.
MOVE BACK! :)

"Whoa- Mom, don't look at me. I didn't do it!"
"Ok. Ok. I did it! I'M SORRY!"
"Wait...I'm not in trouble am I?"
(Paxton makes the best expressions for pictures. haha)

More Phone Pictures

Here are some more phone pictures that I have taken to send to Ben when he's at work. Paxton is so fun! Ben came home last night and asked what we did, and I said "We pretty much just played all day." Paxton was just in the best mood and we were laughing and "talking" all day. Love my kid. (Now this is not the case EVERY day. We have our rough days too. However, yesterday was spectacular. Being a mom is so rewarding.)
Here is Paxton after he fell asleep sucking on his hand.

He has also started to take an interest in toys. He can't really hold them for very long or control them, but if he can get them in his mouth he will!

Here is an elephant/blankie that he likes to suck on.

I actually took this picture on my birthday of us snuggling. I just love snuggling my little boy :)

Here he is sitting on my lap entertaining himself while Ben and I watch a movie. He likes to "talk" really loudly. haha.
Sleepy baby.
This is Paxton at the drive-in movies with mom and dad. This was at the end when we were leaving. He did really good on our family movie date.

Here is a chubby little thigh!

And a sweet little belly!

What a little angel.

I like this one cause it shows all his hair.
I'm just not sure if I am posting enough Paxton pictures :) lol.

Happy 3 months Paxton!

Paxton is 3 months old today! Man, what a wonderful, fulfilling, difficult, happy, crazy, amazing three months it has been. I can't imagine my life without this kid. As every day goes by his personality starts to show a little more, and he is just so hilarious! He has the best expressions and reactions to things that happen. I can't wait to see what this little guy has to say about things! Here are some nakey "happy 3 month" pictures I took of him this morning while we were just hanging out in bed. He is pretty used to having that camera in his face, so I can usually get some pretty good shots. I think he has accepted his role as baby model extraordinaire!

He just needs that hand in his mouth! Yay for Paxton!
