Paxton Flag Post

The last post I did was Maebry's nine month pictures.
I took the kiddos to the 9/11 Memorial to get some shots of both of them.
Here are some of Paxton's pics...
Paxton loved the flags.
He had a lot of fun running around and checking them all out.
He is wearing his new shoes in these pictures.
I ordered him the same shoes his Dad wears.
He calls them "Dada's shoes."
He feels pretty cool walking around wearing shoes like Dad.

Paxton has been doing great in school.
He loves going, and even asks if he'll see his new bestie every morning.
He has been a bit grouchy due to the schedule change, but I think he's getting used to it.
He loves the songs they sing and is constantly singing all day long.
He also sings super loud in the shower :)

He is talking all the time, and he is constantly learning new words.
He is pretty dang smart, and has started writing letters.
He loves using signs and knows the whole alphabet in sign language.
He just soaks up so much every day.
It is so wonderful to see him becoming so much better at communicating.
It can be pretty stressful when you and your child have a hard time communicating.
He will probably be in speech for a while, and he definitely needs work on pronunciation.
BUT he has come such a long way, and it makes me so proud of him.

He loves going on walks, riding his bike, and jumping on the trampoline.
I am nervous for winter, because I have no idea what he's going to do.
I love this next picture. He makes us laugh all the time.

He's getting so big :(
Our little boy is not so little anymore.

Paxton is still one of the sweetest kids ever.
He gives great hugs and loves to spend time with family and friends.
He sure loves hanging with the boys too.
He loves to wrestle, chase, and play catch.
I love the relationship Paxton has with my younger brother.
His Uncle Preston is someone that Paxton lights up when he sees.
He can't help but laugh loudly when Preston is around.
I can see Paxton looking up to Preston for years to come.
His new favorite movie is Wreck It Ralph,
and his favorite book right now is "I Love You Stinky Face."
He also loves the book "Love You Forever," but Mom has a hard time getting through that one.
His favorite foods right now are hot dogs and grapes.
He is still a super picky eater, but I deserve that.
I tried to get a few pictures of both the kiddos together.

Paxton has discovered how easy it is to make his sister laugh.
He has always done silly things to get laughs, but now he knows he has an easy audience.
He can get her laughing so hard.
It is seriously the cutest thing.

He still doesn't pay too much attention to Maebry, but boy is he protective of her.
The other day we were playing with other kids,
and P man ran from the other side of the room to stand in front of Maebry
so one of the smaller kids couldn't steal her toys.
He stood there and protected her for the longest time.
Any kid that came close got a "NO!" from big brother.

Every now and then I'll catch him talking to Maebry and patting her head.
I was taking a few pics of the kiddos the other day and Paxton put his arm around Maebry.
It was just a little gesture, but it made me so happy.
Those sweet little moments between the kids just melt my heart.
He doesn't realize that she will probably be his permanent shadow once she can walk around.

I think those are most of the things I wanted to document so I wouldn't forget.
What a beautiful day at the beautiful flag memorial.

Nine Months Maebry

Our little Maebry Cakes is nine months old!

I have been putting off taking her nine month pictures,
because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for them.
I got this navy blue dress I ordered, a while back, and decided I wanted her to wear it.
After my sister told me the 911 flags were up, I knew immediately I had to take her there.
I have been pretty obsessed with red, white, and blue since the 4th.
I was seriously excited to be able to do another patriotic shoot.

So, what's new with Maebry?
(This thumb picture just captures her so perfectly.)

I really can't think of a ton of things that are different.
I'll just write about how she's been doing.

Maebry sucks her thumb ALL the time now.
It's not just for when she is tired!
I love it.
Her thumb keeps her so content and happy.
She is just the sweetest, most easy going baby around.
Her thumb only helps the situation.

She is always smiling and laughing.

Last week, Maebry and I were sick for about five days.
We were both so exhausted and just feeling super gross.
The only good part of it was that Maebry and I cuddled the whole time.
She just laid on me and sucked her thumb.
It was a really great bonding time for us.
All that snuggling and quality time together really made me feel so close to her.
She doesn't always get a ton of one-on-one time with me,
because she's so easy going, and I try to split my time with older brother too.
Those five days were nice to have.
(Never thought I'd be grateful for sick days!)

I taught her how to clap her hands recently.
Every time you say "YAY!" she claps her hands with a huge smile on her face.

Still no official crawling from her.
She is pretty great at using her legs to scoot around the floor in an army crawl.
If she sees something she wants, she will find a way to get it!

She has really enjoyed her jumper lately.
At first she wasn't a fan, but now it's one of her faves.

She loves trying new foods.
I usually let her try anything she grabs at (as long as it's not dairy or peanuts.)
Guacamole is one of her favorites.
She also loves the veggie straws that I was buying for brother.
They have really helped her get better about not gagging on things.

She still only has two teeth on the bottom.
There is a top one that is working pretty hard to stick out though.
She has been using those two little teeth to bite into food, but she has left Mama alone :)

Her baby squeals are still amazing.

She is so curious about everything around her.

Her big brother is realizing that she can actually be fun.
He loves making her laugh, and even includes her in our play now.
I always catch him rubbing her head and giving her toys.
It's the sweetest thing in the world to see your children love each other.

Happy nine months baby girl.
What a wonderful nine months they have been :)

[I have more flag pics to post of Paxton!]
