Paxton is almost three and a half now!!
While I was looking through these pictures,
I realized that he looks so grown up.
So what's new with him?
Well for one, HE'S POTTY TRAINED!
I suffered through two miserable days to get this result, but it was worth it.
I probably could have gone for it earlier, but I really didn't want to.
And he didn't want to either.
As soon as we committed to it though, it was done.
He has had no pee pee mistakes, and he wakes up dry from every nap and every morning.
It took him a few more days to get #2 right, but he finally did today.
I promised him he could have a huge thing of bubbles if he went #2 in the potty.
Turns out that the bribe worked (a few days later).
After he went, I gave him the huge bottle of bubbles and let him go at it.
He loved every moment of it.
I also ended up taking him to Toys R Us tonight and letting him pick out a new toy.
He picked out another Woody toy to add to his collection.
That's OK though, because I know he got the toy he really wanted.
We had a fun little mommy/son date.
Being out with him alone tonight just made my heart full.
I have so much love for this little boy.
He is so fun, creative, smart, funny, and just amazing.
After Toys R Us, we came home and spent some time outside.
We got him a balance bike a while back, and he has really started enjoying it.
He rode his bike while I walked around the block.
He loves it so much that I can't get him to head home.
He is getting pretty good at it and has started testing his limits.
It is something we have been doing in the evenings when it's not so hot.
Paxton has been attending a summer speech program through the school.
He only goes Tues-Thurs from 10:30-12:30.
He always comes home so happy.
It took him a while to adjust, but now he can't wait to go.
Ben and I are so grateful for these opportunities that are coming up for Paxton.
It has been so nice to have help and support with Paxton's speech therapy.
Through much thought and prayer we have also decided on a
different speech class for Paxton in the fall.
He has a lot more catching up to do, and we want him to catch up quickly.
He has a lot more catching up to do, and we want him to catch up quickly.
Starting some time in August, he will be going every morning Mon-Fri from 8:00-12:00.
When I initially heard about this class, I freaked out and said "Absolutely no!!"
I didn't want my little boy gone every day of the week.
I thought that was way too much for a three year old.
However, after talking with the teachers, speech therapists, family,
and others, we feel like this is the best option for Pax man.
This class is also through the school,
and I have really received peace regarding this decision.
There were quite a few tears at first, because I wasn't ready to let go,
but I am sure it is the right path for Paxton.
I am getting nervous for August already, but I know we can do it!
Here are some random facts about Pax Man:
His favorite movie right now is The Lorax.
He sings his ABCs every time he goes potty.
He loves counting with his fingers now.
He makes me play the Lumineers song, "Ho Hey"
and Robyn's, "Call Your Girlfriend" over and over.
He is down to dance at any time. All he needs it music.
He loves bread, yogurt, goldfish, and blueberries.
While potty training, I bribed him with marshmallows. (He calls them candy.)
He is obsessed with hats. He loves wearing them because Woody wears one.
Every time I drive by Sonic he asks for a "cheese." (grilled cheese sandwich)
He is always outside playing with the dogs and jumping.
He has neverending energy.
I love watching him grow, and seeing him accomplish new things.
It is so exciting to see the look on his face when he figures something new out.
His enthusiasm for life is just adorable.
Life would be lame without him for sure!
Yay for Paxton!
