Lately: Birthdays, Storms, and Hair.

We've had some fun times over here lately.
Two kiddos sure does keep one busy :)

First of all, it was my birthday yesterday, and it was amazing.
I worked the night before, so I came home and slept in.
I woke up to a yummy fruit arrangement that my sweet hubby got for me.

Notice the 27 on top. Haha. Funny story:
While at my parent's house the other day I got in an argument about how old I was.
I told everyone I was 27, and they looked at me like I was crazy.
My siblings were like, "Ummm, no you are not 27 yet. You are 26!"
I was very adamant that they were wrong and I was, in fact, 27.
Ben finally stepped in and requested that I do the math on that one.
Turns out I was 26....
I had been telling people for who knows how long that I was 27.
Most of the time people try to be younger...not older.

Anyways, back to the birthday.
When Ben asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday I had two requests.
1) Fun family time
and
2) Shopping (I never buy myself things anymore.)

I decided for the family fun part we should go to the golf range.
I have been wanting to go for a while now.

Ben loves golfing. It was cute to see Ben and Paxton hitting balls together.
Golf will definitely be something they will do together as Paxton gets older.

I don't pretend to know what I am doing when it comes to golf.
I am not very good at all.
I do like practicing hitting though.

There wasn't a lot that Maebry could do, except sit there and look cute.
She did those things very well!
This is my new favorite picture ever.

She likes to eat my face too.

Later that night, Ben and I went on a date.
We went shopping, and then went out to eat.
We have been on quite a few dates lately, and I have loved it.
We usually aren't great about having couple time, but I definitely want to keep it up.
At the end of the day, I decided that it was one of my favorite birthdays ever.

I have to document this cute moment at dinner:
A big family came into the restaurant while we were eating.
They were being seated at a very long table.
One of the boys announced, "I get to sit by dad!" and rushed over to claim his seat.
Ben heard this and said, "I hope Paxton will always say that. That he wants to sit by Dad."
It seriously melted my heart.
Such a sweet moment.
He's such a good Dada.

What else has been going on?

We had a horrible storm here the other night.
Winds of over 80 MPH were recorded,  huge hail, and lightning.
There was a ton of property destroyed throughout the city and power outages.
During this storm Ben witnessed our trampoline being lifted and thrown from our backyard.
[I have been saying since we got it that we should find a way to stake it down. Just sayin.]

The next morning we found it in our neighbors backyard!

Once we got it back in our yard, we discovered that it was surprisingly intact.
There are only a few things that we are replacing, but it should be good as new.
When Paxton saw that our trampoline was gone he started crying.
It was so sad. I am so glad we could save it!

The storm also woke up both kiddos.
We brought them into bed with us, and they had a blast staying up.
They were playing and laughing so hard.
It was so cute to see them being silly together.

We were lucky that was all that happened during the storm!

And finally, I shaved the kids head.

I really like it.
It is way less work. I never have to brush it.

We spend a ton of time outside, and his head used to get so hot and sweaty.
Now that it is summer, it's way too hot for him to have a full head of hair.
Heck, I should shave mine...not really.

This boy just loves being outside with his puppies.

 This picture cracks me up.
He had the ball and fell, and both of the dogs pounced on him to get it.

Life has been good around here.
We are excited for the summer.
Hopefully we will spend it swimming and playing and dating.
