Eight Months Maebry

Miss Maebry is eight months old!

There is not a whole lot that is new with this little gal.
She's just growing too fast!
You can finally see her two little teeth now.

She sits up wonderfully by herself, and she seems to get
all around a room by scooting and rolling.
(This next picture reminds me of my sister, Raquel so much!)

Her favorite toy is definitely her baby doll.
She laughs and smiles when she sees it.
She also loves any toy that Paxton has :)

She is finally getting some hair growing back.
She had a lot when she was born but lost most of it.

She has been such a healthy, happy, easy baby.
It's been so fun watching her experience new things.

I've been letting her try a bunch of different food lately.
It was really hard to get Paxton to transition to solids because he gagged on everything.
So, I'm trying to introduce her to food earlier so she hopefully won't have the same issue.

Strawberries are definitely one of her favorite foods to gnaw on.
She's already putting those little teeth to work!

She is taking two naps a day, and generally doesn't wake me up too early.
She usually goes to bed around 7:30pm, wakes up around 7:00am to eat,
and goes back to sleep until around 9:00am.
I can't complain about that schedule!
My kids have generally been pretty great sleepers.

I made her dress for this photo shoot, and the headband was one I already had.
(The headband was actually one that fit me, but I sized it down for her.)
I've been wanting to make a dress with a huge bow on the front.

I can't really think of much else that is different, or that I want to document.
All I know is that we are definitely gonna keep this pretty little baby!

Thanks to my parents for having beautiful flowers, and letting me use their yard.
I love how the pictures turned out because of all the great colors.

My Two Quilt Models

I finished an arrow quilt a few days ago. (Check it out HERE.)
I was so excited about the result that I wanted to take some pictures.
I grabbed my little model, dressed her up, and started snapping away.
Well, lately when I try to take pictures of Maebry, Paxton wants in on it too!
He saw me, ran over, and laid next to her saying "Cheese!"
Of course I took advantage of this moment.
I just had to share some of the pictures.

Paxton was even already dressed in coordinating
clothes for our little impromptu photo shoot!
I sure love these kiddos.
And I am totally loving that I know how to get Paxton to pose for pictures now :)

More Seven Month Sweetness

I am picture OCD.
Here are more seven month pictures I took today.
I wasn't ok just having three good ones :)
So I took some more!

Maebs is wearing a dress I made her a while back.
I just fell in love with the pink and turquoise fabric.
I'm sure you've already noticed I'm obsessed with chevron print anything.
The turquoise lace tights are from Nana.

I am so picture OCD that I hobbled my broken back outside to take these pictures.
Ok, my back isn't broken (total exaggeration), but it sure felt like it.
I threw out my lower back over the weekend, and it's still not the same.
The weather was just too perfect for pictures.
I couldn't just ignore those wonderful clouds and the fabulous lighting.
So, I lugged this little sweetie pie outside, with her prop chair, and got to work.

Thanks for smiling for me silly girl.

I just always want to have a reminder of how absolutely gorgeous,
and fun this little gal is at seven months.

We sure love you Miss M.

Thanks again to Aunty June for "Lamby."
Maebry sure loves that soft little lamb,
and he's cute enough to be in the pictures with her :)
[Also, I looked at the second picture below and thought of Cosette.
I'm not sure what it is, but she reminds me of her cousin in that one.]

This last picture makes me laugh.
She's saying, "Back off the lamb!"
The dogs were getting a little too close for comfort.

Maebry also got tooth #2 a day after the first tooth.
Maybe I'm done with seven month pictures now....
No promises though.

They Must Know...

Well, I'm pretty sure my kids have been reading all the things I have been writing about them! Right after I wrote about Paxton not cooperating for pictures he became my model.
I was taking pictures of Maebry because she was being super cute with her doll,
and then there was Paxton asking to cheese with her.

What?!

You better believe I took advantage of that.
(Never mind his red, dirty face. He had just come inside from playing.)

I'm not sure what he was doing in this one...him and Maebry were signing something?

My cute little models doing their thing.

Right after the picture taking, Paxton just walked off and left Maebry sitting there.
AND SHE STAYED SITTING UP!
(In the last post I said she couldn't do that by herself yet.)

No, she hasn't done it again.
I think she just wanted me to know that she could, if she needed to.
Just to clear that little misunderstanding up.
Stinker.

So, if those kiddos are aware of what I write about them, let's work on cleaning up our messes, eh Paxton? And not pooping through our clothes....Maebry that one is for you!

Paxton Post

Paxton is almost three and a half now!!
While I was looking through these pictures,
I realized that he looks so grown up.
So what's new with him?

Well for one, HE'S POTTY TRAINED!
I suffered through two miserable days to get this result, but it was worth it.
I probably could have gone for it earlier, but I really didn't want to.
And he didn't want to either.
As soon as we committed to it though, it was done.
He has had no pee pee mistakes, and he wakes up dry from every nap and every morning.
It took him a few more days to get #2 right, but he finally did today.
I promised him he could have a huge thing of bubbles if he went #2 in the potty.
Turns out that the bribe worked (a few days later).
After he went, I gave him the huge bottle of bubbles and let him go at it.

He loved every moment of it.

I also ended up taking him to Toys R Us tonight and letting him pick out a new toy.
He picked out another Woody toy to add to his collection.
That's OK though, because I know he got the toy he really wanted.
We had a fun little mommy/son date.
Being out with him alone tonight just made my heart full.
I have so much love for this little boy.
He is so fun, creative, smart, funny, and just amazing.

After Toys R Us, we came home and spent some time outside.
We got him a balance bike a while back, and he has really started enjoying it.
He rode his bike while I walked around the block.
He loves it so much that I can't get him to head home.
He is getting pretty good at it and has started testing his limits.
It is something we have been doing in the evenings when it's not so hot.

Paxton has been attending a summer speech program through the school.
He only goes Tues-Thurs from 10:30-12:30.
He always comes home so happy.
It took him a while to adjust, but now he can't wait to go.
Ben and I are so grateful for these opportunities that are coming up for Paxton.
It has been so nice to have help and support with Paxton's speech therapy.

Through much thought and prayer we have also decided on a
different speech class for Paxton in the fall.
He has a lot more catching up to do, and we want him to catch up quickly.
Starting some time in August, he will be going every morning Mon-Fri from 8:00-12:00.
When I initially heard about this class, I freaked out and said "Absolutely no!!"
I didn't want my little boy gone every day of the week.
I thought that was way too much for a three year old.
However, after talking with the teachers, speech therapists, family,
and others, we feel like this is the best option for Pax man.
This class is also through the school,
and I have really received peace regarding this decision.
There were quite a few tears at first, because I wasn't ready to let go,
but I am sure it is the right path for Paxton.
I am getting nervous for August already, but I know we can do it!

Here are some random facts about Pax Man:
His favorite movie right now is The Lorax.
He sings his ABCs every time he goes potty.
He loves counting with his fingers now.
He makes me play the Lumineers song, "Ho Hey"
and Robyn's, "Call Your Girlfriend" over and over.
He is down to dance at any time. All he needs it music.
He loves bread, yogurt, goldfish, and blueberries.
While potty training, I bribed him with marshmallows. (He calls them candy.)
He is obsessed with hats. He loves wearing them because Woody wears one.
Every time I drive by Sonic he asks for a "cheese." (grilled cheese sandwich)
He is always outside playing with the dogs and jumping.
He has neverending energy.

I love watching him grow, and seeing him accomplish new things.
It is so exciting to see the look on his face when he figures something new out.
His enthusiasm for life is just adorable.
Life would be lame without him for sure!
Yay for Paxton!
