Whoa.

Well, tomorrow is the big day. I still can't believe it's here.

These past two years have been:

Fun. Difficult. Hilarious. Challenging. Crazy. Frustrating. Intense.

Not to mention all the years spent taking prerequisite courses and such.

I am graduating nursing school tomorow :)

YYYYAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just passed the second of two tests needed to get my diploma!! YAY!!!

My friends and I were very nervous about the two computer tests we had to pass because they are usually very hard. It is a program called ATI that is separate from our school grade. We had a pharmacology test and a comprehensive RN test (the comprehensive one was a beast of a test with 180 questions), and we had to make certain grades on both of those. If we didn't make those grades we wouldn't get our diploma! SO I PASSED BOTH!! WOO HOO!!

Also, getting a certain grade gives you a 90% chance of passing the NCLEX which is our licensing test we have to take after school. That makes me feel good that I'm in that 90% chance group!! I am obviously retaining most of the knowledge they have been pushing into my head for the past two years! My friend and I definitely did a celebration dance in the parking lot!!!

Now all I have left is our final on Friday which I am not worried about at all. A

fter Friday I will be DONE! Then, graduation next Friday!! YAY!!!

Nursing school is finally coming to an end!!!

Grateful.

I am just so grateful to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.

Words can't even describe the peace I feel knowing what I know.

The Gospel can answer all the questions. I am just so extremely grateful.

Pink Dots

So I learned to sew when I was pretty young, and I have been sewing ever since.
I had my own little kid sewing machine, and a friend and I would sew purses and beanie babies all day. Now that I'm all growed up, I mostly go through phases with things I make,but now I am back in the sewing phase.
I made these house shoes the other day out of material left over from a blanket I made my friend a while back.

It was a simple little pattern that didn't really take too long.

But I love them and I wear them around the house constantly.

Between sewing and painting I have pretty much taken over the kitchen table.

Which I am sure Ben appreciates. I don't work on this stuff everyday so it just sits there all messy until I work on it. It's just become part of the house.

I need to turn our other room into a craft room, and we can just keep the door shut when I'm not working on anything. Yikes....

my little picassos

So I have been painting lately like I said, and tonight I got this crazy idea in my head.

I thought, "hey, lets make a painting with puppy paws!" (thus further proving my obsession for my dogs) So I created a little set up in the back yard and attempted to get my dogs to walk all over the canvas with different color paint on their paws...who is crazy enough to try that??
It pretty much ended up being just as big of a mess as I thought it would be...maybe even more.

Here is the diva himself.

I forgot how prissy my pug is.

He hated getting paint on his paws.

He wouldn't walk on the canvas either so I ended up just grabbing him and putting his paws on it.

Therefore, the smear marks are him resisting me.

Charlie is really a piece of work himself.

Gus really didn't know what was going on...but he didn't like it.

He ended up with paint all over his face and body.

You can kinda see it in this picture.

Also, navy blue on paws was a bad idea.

I also ended up covered in paint from the knees down.

BUT Here is the final product.

No definite paw prints, however you can pretty much tell it's art...haha.

Oh well. I like it. I'm hanging it up.

Side note: No doggies were hurt in the making of this art. They did, however, end up getting baths.

The Nard Dog

Andy Bernard is by far my favorite character on The Office. He is also the reason for one of my favorite Office moments EVER! When Ben and I watched this episode some time ago I made him rewind a million times to see this part over and over. I was laughing so hard I started crying. Classic.

Not too Shabby.

Well, it finally happened. Ben convinced me to try and play golf with him. Well, not actually play, just go to the driving range. The actual playing of golf is way beyond my span of talents. So for the first time I ever I went with Ben and did "golf stuff." Golf is something Ben loves to do, and he is very good at it. He always says "You are the perfect wife...except for the fact that you can't play golf." (He always adds that last part...) Anyway, so I always refused because I just knew that I would be the one out there swinging with all their might and missing the ball. Of course I actually did that very thing for the first few tries. HOWEVER, once I got the hang of it I don't think I did so bad. I got a number of good shots in there. I even admit I had a little fun. (but don't tell Ben, haha) No, I am planning on going with him more often now because it is something we can do together. Maybe someday I will get aiming down...not likely soon though.

It was a little frustrating to be right next to Ben who is just smacking these balls into space. Isn't he cute?

Ben was a little confused by the fact that I felt I needed to take pictures of him playing golf with my phone, but hey, I like pictures and documenting things! It's a girl thing. It should also be noted that we went to "the golf course for losers who can't really play." Ben said this right as we pulled up. Wow, thanks Ben. haha.

However, I did enjoy doing golf stuff so I think that means I am officially the perfect wife :)

Longest Weekend of My Life...

So last week my Mom calls me and says that she was wondering if I would drive with Raquel and my Dad up to Idaho to drop Raquel off at school. The reason she wanted to me to go would be so that my Dad could drive his car, and Raquel and I could follow behind him in her car. She wanted me to go so Raquel wouldn't be alone, and I could help drive all that way. So I ended up missing my test on Friday to drive all the way to Utah with them. Raquel and I had fun on the way up, but we were in the car ALL day. Even through a snow storm...scary! When we got to Utah we spent the night at my Grandma's place which happens to be right above her cafe :) :) We ate breakfast there the next morning. yummy. I always have to get her famous cinnamon roll!

Isn't Karen's Cafe so freaking cute? I hadn't seen it since they moved to a bigger place. I love it! If you guys are ever in Ogden you need to stop by!
The next day we drove Raquel up to Idaho, went shopping for her, set her room up, and my Dad and I drove back to Utah. That night my Uncle, Aunt, and Cousin came to eat with my Dad and I at the cafe. That was fun and, it was really nice to see our family that we never really get to see. AND FINALLY the next day my Dad and I set off back home for another 15 hours in the car. Yuck. Good thing we had good tunes. We got back really late Sunday night and I went back to school on Monday. uuggh.
Oh well it was nice spending time with family, and getting to help my sister! I also realized how much I miss the mountains. It was also nice to be up in Idaho again. Everyone was asking me if I missed going to school up there, and I do but I am also so glad I came back and married Ben. :) That part of my life was really fun, but I love my life now too. Marrying Ben was the best decision I have ever made. So yay Idaho AND Texas! I'm excited for my sister going back up there, and I hope she has a blast! Good weekend but glad it's over!

Wow. Happy Easter!

Wow. This talk was so powerful when I heard it in Conference, and even more so as I sit here and watch this video. This video is on lds.org, and if you haven't watched it you definitely should. I hope everyone has a Happy Easter, and spends some time reflecting on the things that really matter!

Amateur Hour

I was feeling crafty the other day so I decided to do some painting. I tried to paint things that matched my house. Anyways, here they are!

I'm not sure I like them on the mantle but I was getting sick of the pictures that were up there!

I made that tile at the Mud Room (my favorite place). Both were made for my sister who is moving back to Idaho soon. Her room is black and red, and she likes peace signs.

Welp, I'm Out!

So, I am officially done watching American Idol this season! Ok, I haven't really watched the show this season, and I actually never do watch American Idol. This is mostly because there are always more people on that show that annoy me than entertain me-- so it gets old. BUT I really did like Megan Joy, and she was voted off yesterday! :( Her voice was very unique, and I have always secretly wanted a sleeve of tattoos, haha. (Don't Judge!) They compared her voice to Adele and Duffy and such, and those singers are my favorites right now.

I would just get on YouTube and watch her performances so I didn't have to watch the others. (That Adam dude scares me!) I will admit that she wasn't doing as well as she was in the beginning, and I think she could have done a lot better. I hope she comes out with a CD though cause I'm definitely a fan! She is just different, and I love that. She is also gorgeous which doesn't hurt. However, I did really like that Kris Allen's performance (awesome), and Allison Irabktxhaqwpre (I don't know her last name) has a freaking wonderful voice. Everyone else gets on my nerves--therefore I am officially OUT! Back to stuff that matters!

So when I go running I MUST have music playing, and it MUST be loud. It is quite impossible for me to run while hearing myself struggle for air. Hearing myself being tired always makes me more tired! Well, I have an ipod shuffle that I always used for my runs, and it was great because it is so small. BUT after I got my iPhone it was pretty inconvenient to keep two ipods current. I only really used the shuffle for running, but I used my iPhone for music every other time. It was a hassle to make sure I added my new songs to both devices. Most of the time I would forget to put the songs on my shuffle, and then when I went running I would be bored listening to old music.


Well, when I saw the iPhone armband I told Ben I could really use one of those so I could just take my iPhone running. However, I forgot about it and just kept using my shuffle. SO one day I get home from school and there is the iPhone armband I wanted on the table! Ben had bought it for me! How sweet! See the nifty key holder?? Love that part. Before that, where was I supposed to put my house key?? Genius!

Ever since I got it I have been using it, and I am very happy I got one! It's nice not to have to worry about charging and adding songs to two different ipods. How is it working? Well, I only have one complaint:

1) The iPhone is pretty heavy to be on your arm so when you try and secure it (so it doesn't slide down) you have to put it on kinda tight. It can get uncomfortable. Today on my way home I looked down at my hand because it was hurting and I noticed it was much bigger than my other hand! haha. I suppose the band was cutting off circulation. Whoops! I'm sure running while you have no circulation in your hand doesn't help either!

Sia- "Day Too Soon" (yeah, freaking weird CD cover but her voice is awesome)

I am pretty obsessed with music. Without it, running wouldn't happen for me.

Wow. I have officially gone through 3 tires in probably 4 months! Seriously??

So ridiculous. Today was my first day back to school after spring break, and after a really hard day at the hospital I walk out in the sweltering heat to find ANOTHER flat tire! However, this is something I have found that is perfect for a husband to take care of! And he always does. It's just annoying.


So here are some puppy pics cause we don't have kids so you get a million dog pictures instead!

See that pink yarn all over the yard?? Yah, that would be "The Destroyer" aka Gus. He stole my brand new hand knitted slippers that someone made me and destroyed them in the back yard. Not cool. He pretty much destroys everything.

Except he's so cute sometimes too! This is me reading in my bed and Gus decided to come lay on my arm. He was pretty much asleep but kept one eye open just in case!
