It's time for a cute kid update.
I took the kiddos to the park the other day and brought along my camera.
It was such a pretty day, very windy, but that is a constant lately.
We brought some lunch and played with some friends.
Here is Maebry with her taquito.
Maebry's favorite park activity would have to be the swings.
As soon as I put her in the swing, she doesn't stop smiling!
I finally understand the struggle of having a kid who tries to take their shoes off all the time.
Usually she takes them off and throws them.
Sixteen months old and still no walking.
She pulls up on everything though.
She pulls up and then freaks out because she feels stuck.
She will travel if she has something to hold on to, but that doesn't mean she likes it!
I try to make her walk a little every day.
She has also been working on her climbing.
She can't climb things that are very high and usually needs a lot of assistance.
It is pretty crazy how different Paxton was at this age.
He was running around and climbing everything.
I used to be so scared he was climbing things that were way too high.
Maebry is the scared one this time.
As long as Maebry isn't walking she is still my baby, right?
She still wants me to hold her all the time and carry her everywhere.
She might be over me when she finally starts walking.
She's not a toddler until she's walking....so still my baby!

I got her ears pierced six weeks ago.
I was always going to wait until she wanted them pierced, but one day I just decided to do it.
Ben was saying that she was going to want it done anyway, so we might as well just get it done.
I figured she wouldn't remember getting them done and wouldn't have to anticipate the stick.
She did so great. She barely cried at all.
She also hasn't messed with them which has kept them super clean.
No problems so far, and they are just so cute!
Maebry has started talking more.
She now says DaDa, Tech (she does 'guns up' too), pup pup, and juice.
My kids take forever to say Mama, and that is the one I am relentless about.
She is constantly jabbering and makes the cutest sounds.
Oh yah, and her new thing is growling. Its seriously the cutest!
She is understanding more words too.
She will give you a kiss if you ask, she waves bye or hi if you say it, and uses the sign for more.
Her little personality is becoming even more evident, and it is so fun to see her experiencing new things.
I was at my Mom's house the other day, and I was telling her about Maebry.
I was telling her about how spunky Maebry is and how she has super strong opinions already.
I was saying that she is just so different than Paxton was/is, and I called her my 'little fireball.'
My Mom just laughed and said, "Well good, because that's exactly what you were, my fireball."
It makes me smile to think about that, because I guess I'm getting it back. Hah.
Maebry is a social butterfly.
She is happier with a lot of people around, and she will try to talk to anyone.
She especially loves babies and other kids.
She loves to dance, bug brother, eat (she's always hungry),
explore, go on walks (in the stroller), and be outside.
She seriously loves being outside and getting dirty.
I was holding her at the park, and she suddenly tried to dive out of my arms.
I put her down, and she triumphantly grabbed a stick that was laying on the ground.
She seriously tried to dive out of my arms for a stick.
Oh this girl.
I just love being with this sweet little girl.
She always has a way of making me smile.
Life is definitely way more interesting with Maebry in it.
Paxton and Maebry have a pretty typical sibling relationship.
Sometimes they love playing together, and sometimes she annoys him.
(She did not want his arm around her for picture time.)
He is still her number one protector.
No one can mess with her when he's around.
Maebry is always interested in what Paxton is doing.
He has started building barricades around his play area so she can't get to his stuff.
He has lost way too many towers to his sister.
It will be funny when she starts walking, and he can't keep her away.
We still need to work on sharing with sister as well.
Paxton is still my sweet, loving, hilarious little boy.
He is always wanting hugs, and he loves to be silly.
He has been learning tons of new words, and his speech is constantly improving.
There are even some new phrases that he might have learned from me that I wish he hadn't.
I am just now experiencing when your kid uses your own words against you.
It usually catches me off guard and makes me laugh.
It was so fun watching him play at the park.
He was really trying to play with friends, and be involved in the action.
Ever since he started going to school every day, he is so much better about playing with new friends.
He is not as shy, and he tries to be included.
He had some good times with his friend Finn.
He is still obsessed with letters and sign language.
He found the alphabet at the park we played at and was so excited.
He has also been working on writing his own letters.
He wrote out the whole alphabet with chalk on the sidewalk the other day.
Talk about a proud Mom moment.
Paxton has also been really interested in spelling.
He has known his name for some time now, but he has started to ask how to spell other words.
Right now he can spell Mama, Dada, Maebry, and Woody.
He has a whole list of words he has been working on as well.
He has also been trying to make all the letters with his body.
He was showing his doctor the letters of his name using his arms and legs.
It was pretty funny.
This kid is probably going to be a genius someday.
He just really cares about certain things, and then works on them constantly.
Paxton is always singing "Let it Go" from Frozen and working on new dance moves.
He is so good at memorizing movie lines along with all the expressions and movements of the characters.
He totally got that from his Dad.
He is finally drinking milk (as long as it's chocolate), and I am so relieved to have finally won that battle.
He loves being outside, eating fruit snacks, building things,
typing words on the computer or tablet, singing, snuggling, and learning.
There you have it. The kids are both amazing and cute.
