Dear Paxton, Please Stop Growing.

Oh, Paxton. You sweet boy.

You have already been through so much in your life.

You have had a harder path than most three year olds,

but you have laughed every second of the way.

 

 

I hope you never lose that wonderful sense of humor.

You can be so hilarious. 

 



Even as I sit here typing I can hear you laughing.

Your laugh always makes me laugh too.

 

 

You have some pretty sweet dance moves.

When you hear a good song, it's like you can't help but dance. 

 

I'm pretty sure you are the coolest kid around.

Even when you start to think your Mom isn't cool-- you will still be cool to me.

 

You are good at wrestling Dada, rolling pizza dough, eating queso, and playing angry birds.

Well, you aren't that great at angry birds, but it's funny watching you play.

 

 





You love to say, "Good job Bud, Woooo!"

....to yourself :)

I keep finding you in my closet trying to get my winter boots,

because you think they are "Woody" boots.

You also try to wear Maebry's sun hat, because Woody wears a hat.

 

You are growing up so fast.

I try to take in every moment we are together so I will have the memories. 

 

You are my best friend.

I hope we will always be besties.

 

And I'm sad for the day when you don't want to be a dinosaur.

 

Please stop growing.

Message to Maebry

I love dressing up my little Maebry.

It is so fun making her clothes and putting outfits together for her.

I love the bows, the ruffles, and all the fun colors.

I need Maebry to understand something though.

She doesn't need all of that to be beautiful.

 

She is beautiful all on her own :)

 

I get that she won't understand that concept now.

But this is something I want her to know as she grows up.

 

It can be rough being a girl.

There is a lot of pressure to look the "right" way.

Most people judge girls by the way they look, and it can be daunting.

 

As her Mom, I just want her to know every day

how much I love her and how wonderful she is.

She is beautiful for so many reasons.

 

 

I also need her to know that she has a Heavenly Father who made her this way.

He loves her so much, and she is perfect in His eyes.

 

 I need her to know these things because they are true.

These truths will make her happy. 

 

I hope and pray every day for her happiness.

 

This little gal can light up a room.

Her sweet little spirit shines so bright.

 

 

Her Daddy thinks she's perfect too.

He will probably beat up anyone who says differently :)

We can already tell she is such a special gal.

 

And she is so beautiful-- inside and out!

I just need her to know that.

 



Family Pictures!

 FINALLY!!

We took family pictures :)

The last family pictures we took were before I was prego with Maebry.

Naturally, we needed new ones with Maebry in them.

 

The weather was absolutely perfect.

The kiddos were in great moods.

AND our regular photographer Nicole (my sister) was available.

 

Here is what we came up with:

 

 

We didn't go for anything artsy.

I just wanted good pictures of us.

We took the pictures at the same spot we took our last family pics.

It's just really convenient, and it's all about convenience now days!

A special thanks to my brother, Preston, and nephew, Spencer, for the Paxton laughs.

Five Months Maebry

Little Miss Maebry is five months old!

I can't even believe it!

Next month she will be half a year old, and that just blows my mind!

 

 

The other day I asked Ben, "How did we ever live without her?"

It's funny how you don't even realize how much happier you can get until you are :)

 

 

She sure makes life fun.

Here are some new things about her:

 

 She is in the spitting stage. She is always spitting.

She is either spitting, laughing, or chewing on something/fingers.

Her fingers are always in her mouth.

When I check on her at night, she is always rolled on her tummy

with her thumb in her mouth.

She loves sucking her thumb.  

 

She is also losing all her baby hair :(

Bye bye curls.

I'm really sad that I can't give her the big curl mohawk anymore.

 She has the typical bald spot on the back of her head as well.

 

She tries really hard to sit up on her own.

She gets frustrated when I try to lay her back.

Just another example of my baby trying to be a big girl already.

 

 

Maebry has also developed some pretty funny habits.

Some times she hits me when she's eating.

As she's falling asleep she will slap me (not hard) on the chest over and over.

She also holds one arm straight out to the side when I'm walking around with her.

(Like the picture up above.)

These are little quirks that are unique to her.

I didn't want to forget them.

 

Her sleep times are pretty routine lately.

She has definite nap times every day, and

she usually goes to bed around the same time every night.

It's easier knowing when she will need sleep so I can plan my day around it.  

 

 I tried to give her rice cereal, and it was an epic fail.

She ended up just screaming and crying.

Paxton didn't have such a dramatic reaction when I first gave him some.

I think it's safe to say that this little gal has got some personality.

 



She really is a great baby.

We are so lucky to have this little five month old :) 

 



Speech School

As I have mentioned in previous posts, Paxton is behind in his speech.

Ever since his last set of tubes were put in, he has been hearing great.

His vocabulary has grown tremendously since then, but he is still behind.

We met with the school district so he could be evaluated for speech therapy services.

He qualified for services, and we were told about a twice a

week speech class that was recommended for him.

We enrolled him the following Monday, and now Paxton gets to go to school twice a week!

He goes Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am-10:00am

at the elementary school in our district.

 

The class is taught by two speech therapists and

consists of story time, arts and crafts, snacks, and playground time.

We are very excited for Paxton to have this opportunity.

He has already gone this week, and he comes home in the best mood.

Waking up that early is not the easiest thing for him though!

 

We literally live two minutes away from the school so it is very convenient.

I love that he will be able to make new friends,

and that we are getting some help with his communication skills.

It's so cute to walk him up to his class with his little backpack on.

We are so proud of him, and we love our Paxton!

Yay for speech school :)  

 



What a Lovely Night!

 Why is this little gal so happy??

BECAUSE SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE WHOLE NIGHT!!!!!!!!

WOO HOO!!!!!!

That's right guys, this little lady slept 12 hours without waking up!

I put her cute bum to bed last night around 8:15, 

and she didn't wake up until around 8:15 this morning. 

I think her Mom might be just as excited as she is in these pictures!

The last post I wrote said that she wasn't very great at the sleeping thing. 

I guess she showed me!

It was the perfect night for her to sleep all night too.

My first night back to work (since November) was Saturday night, 

and I was in major need of some extra sleep.

(I work one night a week as a nurse 7pm-7am.)

I will also mention that she only woke up once for her Daddy while I was at work.

He was very thankful for that.

I came home Sunday morning, slept two hours, and then woke up to feed her.

I then proceeded to stay up the whole day, 

and I didn't go to sleep until after I put Maebry to bed.

So, thank you Bee Bee. 

It was a lovely, wonderful sleep.

I'm not getting my hopes up that this will last.

I just wanted to celebrate the moment. 

Now, if only brother didn't climb into our bed at 3:00 in the morning.....

One success at a time I guess! 

Four Months

This beauty is four months old! 

I can't believe how fast it's flying by! 

Maebry's talents include rolling over, drooling, and looking dang cute. 

I love the girly sounds that come out of her too.

Ben says she screams like a girl.

She will be playing and just let out this high pitched squeal. 

She is a pretty great audience too.

She loves to laugh. 

I forgot how hard it is to find a place to set down a rolling baby. 

Life was easier when she just stayed put. 

She is absolutely in awe of her big brother. 

She loves to watch him.

I will be trying so hard to get her attention, but if Pax is in the room, I can't compete. 

Maebry's still not super awesome at the sleeping thing, but we'll keep her anyway :)

 She will probably get teeth soon because the drool is endless.

She will also chew on anything that gets anywhere near her mouth.

Her short friendship with the pacifier is pretty much over as well :( 

I could tell she wasn't super committed. 

Nicknames: Chunkers and Bee Bee. 

When Paxton says her name is sounds like he's saying Bee Bee. 

I have started calling her that, because I hear it so much.

Chunkers comes from my hope that I will have a rollie pollie, chunky baby.

Her 90th percentile height (just like Paxton's always was) seems to be in the way of that.

 I have also started referring to her as Mae Baby. 

I said I would never call her Mae, but I also said I would never call Paxton Pax....

We love our little gal regardless of her size :) 

She has been such a great addition to the family. 

We are so grateful for her in our lives!
